Girls aged 14-19 are invited to join free PyGirls Python programming classes

Education technology organisation Datorium invites girls aged 14 to 19 to take their first steps into the world of programming by learning the Python programming language. This free course has been specially designed to help girls develop digital skills and learn programming in a supportive, girls-only (#girlsonly) environment.

“Programming is becoming one of today’s most important skills, and it is certainly not just for boys. We have created a special online programming coursePyGirls, designed exclusively for girls aged 14 to 19. Over four months, the girls will learn Python — currently the most popular programming language — and create their first apps. Alongside programming skills, participants will develop logical thinking and learn to use modern digital tools, enabling them to collaborate effectively in teams as they develop their projects and take part in the PyGirls hackathon.”Says Datorium CEO Anžela Džafarova.

The programming classes will take place online every Saturday from 12.00 to 13:30, starting on 21 February. The programme includes a total of 16 classes and will conclude with the PyGirls hackathon. All classes will be recorded and made available on the learning platform. Participants will need a computer with a stable internet connection.

More than 900 girls have already completed the PyGirls course, and 86 % of them have decided to continue their journey in programming. PyGirls participants will joinDatorium Discordcommunity, which currently brings together more than 10 000 young people interested in programming and technology. The community offers engaging discussions, free events, internships and job opportunities, as well as many other valuable opportunities.
